SILVER SPRING, Md. (DC News Now) — More than a dozen dogs were removed from an illegal boarding facility in Silver Spring on Tuesday, according to Montgomery County officials.
Following a complaint, the Montgomery County Office of Animal Services executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Sligo Avenue on June 24.
The county said animal service officers placed 23 dogs in protective custody and took them to the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center in Deerwood for evaluation and care.
Officials noted the unlicensed residential business was operating as a doggie daycare. However, no information about the business owner or the conditions under which the animals were kept is currently being released.
As of Thursday, no charges have been filed.
