CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Mecklenburg County judge Thursday lowered the bond for one of the suspects charged in the 2024 shooting death of a Charlotte teenager.
Tyquan Dashawn Paige, originally held without bond since his January arrest, was granted a $100,000 secured bond during a hearing on Thursday, June 26.
Paige faces multiple felony charges, including murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the shooting death of 17-year-old Aryan Jaswal last August.
As part of his release conditions, Paige must wear a 24-hour electronic monitor and is required to live with his mother, according to court documents.
His case is due back in Mecklenburg County court this August. The second adult suspect in this case, identified as Jaylon Jamier Reaves, is also scheduled for a hearing in August.
Jaswal was found shot to death inside a vehicle on Wynhollow Downs Lane on August 13, 2024. The case led to multiple arrests, including a then-16-year-old from South Carolina in October 2024, and later Paige and Reaves in January 2025.
