Where to find cooling centers to beat the heat

(WOWK) – With extreme heat settling into the area, some communities are starting to establish cooling centers for the upcoming week ahead of an Extreme Heat Watch.

Cabell County:

  • Harmony House at 627 4th Avenue
    • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 23, through Tuesday, June 24, and Thursday, June 26, through Friday, June 27
    • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 25
  • First Steps Drop-in Center at 730 7th Avenue
    • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 23, through Friday, June 27
  • Cabell County Library Main Branch at 455 9th Street
    • 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, June 23
    • 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, through Friday, June 27
  • Underwood Senior Center at 632 9th Avenue in Huntington
    • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
