MINDEN, LA (KTAL/KMSS) — Tennessee Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed has called Northwest Louisiana home for his high school and college career, and on Friday he gave back to that community with his third annual football camp, where over 300 kids are learned the fundamentals of football.

“I want them to get better out here, just come out here and have fun and just know if they ever need anyone they always got L’Jarius Sneed,” Sneed said.

The kids got learn football tips from the two time Super Bowl champion himself, as well as participating in many drills, including Sneed’s favorite.

“The 40, that was main and only drill,” Sneed said. “I could run fast, didn’t have to change direction but I knew I could run fast.”

This time around, the camp was held at night to get that true Friday night lights experience.

“It’s dope we have it at nighttime,” Sneed said. “Put them up under the lights, give it a little vibe. I remember when I was in high school playing under the Friday night lights was a different type of energy.”

Most importantly it was an opportunity for Sneed to be present for the kids looking up to him in the Minden community.

“I wish when I was little I had someone to look up to,” Sneed said. “I made it pretty far, and I know the kids looking up to me want to play in the big stage like me. It’s a blessing to come back and be a role model and a mentor to these kids to show them the way it can be done. That’s why I keep showing up, keeping giving back to the community.”
