Driver killed in Concord crash

(KRON) — One person was killed in a single-car crash near the intersection of Kirker Pass Road and Clearbrook Drive in Concord on Friday.

The driver was killed when the car left Kirker Pass Road and crashed into a tree around 1:51 p.m. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The southbound lanes of Kirker Pass Road remain closed while the Concord Police Department investigates the cause of the crash. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

“We will provide an update as soon as the roadway is reopened,” the Concord Police Department wrote on social media. “Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to determine the cause of this tragic incident.”
