Shooting leads to chase in Hazleton; multiple detained

HAZLETON – Multiple people were taken into custody after police say shots were fired in Hazleton and a police chase followed.

According to Hazleton Police, the department received a Raven gunshot detection in the area of 14th and Vine around 1pm Tuesday.

There, several shell casings were found and an involved vehicle was identified.

Officers later found that vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle instead fled.

The chase ended in the area of Spruce and Locust when the occupants bailed from the car and ran off. The car rolled into a parked box truck.

Several people have been detained by city police and anyone with information is asked to call police.
