JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Capitol police arrested a driver after a chase ended near Metrocenter Mall in Jackson.
Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Alabama Street on June 18. She said the driver led officers on a brief chase before his vehicle wrecked near Interstate 220 and Highway 80.
Martin said the driver, who was identified as 24-year-old David Barber, ran away from the car and into Metrocenter Mall before he arrested.
Barber will be charged with felony evasion, and he faces multiple drug charges.
