SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — In its first Bay Area show, P-pop sensation BINI stole the hearts of the San Francisco crowd Tuesday night at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. With their infectious vocals, melodic raps and choreographed dance moves throughout a nearly two-hour set, “Blooms” got to experience all of what the “BINIverse” tour had to offer.
Thousands roared as BINI opened the night with its 2024 hit “Salamin, Salamin.” After a few songs, which included hits like “I Feel Good” and “Lagi,” the girl group introduced themselves to the crowd — each member was greeted by deafening screams.
Shortly after, the octet — Jhoanna, Aiah, Colet, Gwen, Maloi, Stacey, Mikha, and Sheena — took a short break from singing to talk to the predominantly Filipino crowd.
Jhoanna even joked about the Bay Area weather. She recalled getting off the tour bus in San Francisco and saying “sobrang lamig,” which translates from Tagalog to “it’s so cold.”
After the first outfit change around 9:15pm, BINI returned to the stage to their 2025 English song “Blink Twice.”
Aiah, who apparently studied up on a bit of Bay Area geography, tried to get a sense of where in the region the audience is from. She gave a shoutout to the East Bay, South Bay and North Bay, but one place got the loudest roar of them all.
“Daly City?!”
Aiah said those words and was met with screams — getting her answer of where most of this Bay Area crowd is from. (Daly City is home to one of the largest Filipino populations in the U.S.)
BINI slowed things down with its Filipino ballad “Na Na Nandito Lang,” each member showcasing their respective power vocals.
One of their final songs was “Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi,” which translates to “Let’s Not Go Home Yet.” Gwen, Colette, Stacey and Sheena sang the song scattered through the Bill Graham crowd as select lucky fans got to see their idols up close in person.
BINI closed out the show with its biggest hit to date “Pantropiko.” The 2023 song has more than 109 million YouTube views for its music video.
BINI heads to Seattle for its next tour stop. They will perform at the Paramount Theater on Friday, June 20.
Ashley Mehta opened the show at 7:45pm. Mehta is a singer of Filipino and Indian descent from Fremont.
Mehta warmed up the crowd as they were making their way inside the venue. As Mehta closed out her 30-minute set, thousands of “Blooms” now awaited their beloved girl group.
