NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Starting Monday morning, June 16 very muggy with temperatures in the upper 70s. Temperatures will stay in the mid to upper 80s for the remainder of the day.
The North shore and South shore stay in the middle to upper 80s this afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to bring lots of cloud cover and rain cooled air, keeping temperatures below average for this time of year.
A summer like pattern continues with the chance for heavy rain and thunderstorms. Cloud cover will build in as the day continues with the highest chance for rain between lunch time and the late evening hours.
A 90% chance for scattered storms this afternoon. Expect heavy downpours, strong wind, and the potential for flash flooding. Higher than normal precipitation amounts continue through Tuesday.

The typical summer pattern continues for the remainder of the week – Hot and muggy with afternoon thunderstorms. Temperatures climb back to the 90s this weekend with the chance for isolated showers.
