MARKSVILLE, La. (KLFY) — A Marksville Police officer is under investigation after shooting and killing a man Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
The Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations were requested just before 5 p.m. Sunday by the Marksville Police Department to investigate an officer-involved shooting on Laurel Street in Marksville.
One unidentified person was shot and then taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two officers suffered minor injuries but were released following medical treatment, officials said.
This is an active investigation. No further information was released.
