MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Coahoma County Fire Department says a group of bystanders came to the rescue of a truck driver trapped underneath his big rig on Highway 316 near Jonestown, MS, Friday morning.
The fire department released pictures of the overturned eighteen-wheeler. There is no word on the cause of the crash.
Just before noon, the fire department and Pafford EMS units responded to a report of an overturned tractor-trailer with a person trapped.
When they got there, they said the driver had already been freed from the vehicle. It does not appear that any other vehicles were involved.
Paramedics provided medical care on the scene. The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters from Lula, Jonestown, and Lyon also responded.
