Driver rescued from Mississippi lake after crash

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A driver had to be rescued from a lake after a crash in Coahoma County, Mississippi.

According to the Coahoma County Fire Department, crews responded to reports of a rollover crash on Highway 61 near Lula just after 11 p.m. on Saturday.

The fire department said that first responders found a vehicle in a lake. An injured person was outside of the vehicle.

Coahoma Fire says that bystanders helped get the driver out of the vehicle by breaking the driver’s side window.

The driver was reportedly treated on the scene. There is no word on their current condition.

Coahoma Fire says firefighters from Lula, Jonestown, Lyon, and Friars Point responded to the scene.
