CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy was killed in a drive-by shooting early Sunday morning in Grand Crossing on the city’s South Side, according to a preliminary police report.
Police say the 17-year-old was near a sidewalk in the 7600 block of South Prairie Avenue around 4 a.m. when a dark-colored sedan approached him. At least one person from inside the vehicle took out a gun and fired shots, according to police, then the vehicle fled west on 76th Street.
The victim was hit multiple times in the shoulder and was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police say.
Nobody is yet in custody, and Area Two detectives are investigating.
