CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy was killed in a drive-by shooting Saturday night in Morgan Park on the city’s Far South Side, according to Chicago police.

Police say the victim was standing on a sidewalk in the 11300 block of South Carpenter Street around 7:15 p.m. when an unknown offender in a blue sedan fired multiple gunshots in his direction.

The victim was hit in the chest and taken to an area hospital in critical condition, police say. He was later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, police say the offending vehicle fled north on Carpenter St. after the shooting. Nobody is in custody, and area detectives are investigating.
