Spider-Man: Brand New Day Marvel Legends Figures Reveal Savage Hulk’s MCU Return

Even though we’ve finally gotten a look at the first trailer for Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, there’s a lot that the trailer doesn’t show us. We only catch glimpses of the villains facing off against Spidey this time around, and we only see Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner in human form. Will Banner Hulk out in his latest MCU adventure? Luckily, where the trailer is playing its cards close to the vest, Hasbro’s Marvel Legends figures are a lot more revealing.

Recently, Hasbro unveiled its first wave of action figures and toys based on Brand New Day. That includes a massive Hulk figure that suggests we’ll be seeing Banner return to his classic, savage roots during the course of the film. Check out the slideshow gallery below for a closer look at these upcoming figures:

Again, the Marvel Legends Hulk figure seems to confirm that we’ll see a more classical take on the character in Brand New Day, as opposed to the “Smart Hulk” status quo that’s existed since 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. Gone are the glasses, bodysuit, and serene facial expression, replaced by torn clothes and a screaming headsculpt. It’s widely rumored that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will team up to battle an enraged Hulk during the film, and these toys certainly seem to support that rumor.

Alongside the Spider-Man and Hulk Marvel Legends figures, Hasbro is also releasing a series of Marvel Actionverse figures geared toward a slightly younger audience. It’s here that we get a better look at Michael Mando’s Scorpion design. Clearly, the villain will be wearing a heavily armored suit in the film, prehensile scorpion tail and all.

These toys answer some of our biggest questions about the new film, but plenty more mysteries remain. Above all, which Marvel character is Sadie Sink playing? We may have to wait until the film hits theaters to find out, assuming that mystery isn’t also answered by an action figure. That said, some fans think they’ve figured it out.
