(KRON) – A Lincoln resident was arrested on gun charges during a traffic stop, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.
A Santa Rosa police officer pulled over a vehicle for a window tint violation near Mendocino Avenue and Bicentennial Way at 8:23 p.m. on Friday. According to police, the officers smelled marijuana coming from the car and saw open containers of weed “in plain view.”
The driver, identified as a 21-year-old Lincoln resident, was detained. Police said there was probable cause to search the suspect. He was carrying a satchel that police said had a loaded 9mm Glock 19 semi-automatic handgun in it.
The suspect was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for suspicion of possession of a loaded unregistered firearm in public, possession of a concealed firearm on person and prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
