(WPHL) — A large wildfire has taken over 100 acres of Wharton State Forest in Burlington County, New Jersey.
According to the New Jersey Forest Service, the “Mines Spung Wildfire” was first reported around 11 a.m. by a private aircraft flying over the area.
The fire is in the area of the Carranza Memorial in the Wharton State Forest.
The following road closures are in place:
- Tuckerton Rd closed from Carranza to Washington Turnpike
- Bulldozer Rd closed
The Batona Trail is closed between Carranza Rd and Bulldozer Rd.
Fire officials say no structures are threatened at this time.
The Lower Forge Campground has been evacuated.
At this time, the fire has grown to 100 acres and is 0% contained. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
