Guns, $500+, and over 1,000 grams of drugs seized during traffic stops in New Castle County

(WPHL) — Detectives in New Castle County have seized two firearms and over 1,000 grams of drugs throughout two separate traffic stops.

According to detectives, the first traffic stop was conducted on June 10 for a violation on Old Newark Road. 23-year-old Ryan Harris was found to be in possession of a loaded ghost gun with a 4-round high capacity magazine, and 1,034 grams of Marijuana.

Harris was charged with:

  • Possession of a large-capacity magazine during the commission of a felony
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
  • Possession of a firearm by a person prohibited
  • Possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance
  • Carrying a concealed deadly weapon
  • Possession of an untraceable firearm
  • Possession of a controlled substance, tier 1
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Failure to signal continuously
  • Driving a motor vehicle while using an electronic communication device. 

He was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $122,502.00 cash bail.

On June 11, detectives conducted a traffic stop on a gray Acura TL near Philadelphia Pike and Harvey Street. Detectives conducted a “probable cause search of the vehicle” and discovered a loaded 9mm handgun, approximately 84 grams of marijuana, 1.27 grams of crack cocaine, and $591 in suspected drug proceeds.

23-year-old Jaden Singletary, the driver, and 23-year-old Jagen Watson, his passenger, were both arrested and charged.

Singletary was charged with:

  • Possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance
  • Possession of marijuana other than a personal use quantity
  • Possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Driving without a valid license
  • Failure to have the required insurance
  • Violation of expired tags, fictitious registration card, plate, or tag.

Singletary was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $14,600.00 cash bail.

Watson was charged with:

  • Obstruction of justice- conceal/alter/destroy materials
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
  • Possession of a firearm by a person prohibited
  • Carrying a concealed deadly weapon
  • Providing a false statement to law enforcement
  • Possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Watson was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $28,800.00 cash bail.
