PLAQUEMINES PARISH, La (WGNO) — A boil water advisory was issued for parts of Plaquemines Parish on Thursday, June 12.
Parish officials said severe weather on the night of Wednesday, June 11, affected electrical components in the Port Sulphur Water Treatment Plant, causing the facility to lose power. This resulted in a water outage.
The advisory is in effect for all areas from the Port Sulphur Water Plant to the Boothville Water Plant.
An update will be provided when testing is complete.
