Deputies looking for information in San Joaquin man’s 2020 homicide

SAN JOAQUIN, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – After receiving new information, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating the person responsible for the death of a San Joaquin man back in 2020.

The sheriff’s office says they have received new information regarding the homicide of Rosendo Herrera in San Joaquin in 2020, causing them to shift their focus back to the case.

Herrera was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 9000 block of Donna Street in San Joaquin on Oct. 8, 2020, when the sheriff’s office says a homeowner reported finding him injured in front of their home.

Deputies say Herrera was suffering from gunshot wounds when they arrived at the scene; they provided first aid until EMS arrived, but Herrera died a short time later.

Years later, on Monday, the sheriff’s office said that they had received new information related to this case. Because of this, they ask anyone with information to contact Detective J. Diaz at 559-600-8204 or 559-448-7089.
