1 dead, 1 injured after crash on Hwy 30 involving trailer truck

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A person is dead while another is seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 30 Monday night, Portland police said.

The crash took place just before 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Northwest St. Helens Road and Northwest Bridge Avenue.

“Officers arrived to find a vehicle that crashed into the rear of a stopped or slowing semi-trailer truck. The driver and passenger were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. Officers learned that the driver died at the hospital due to her injuries. The driver of the semi-trailer truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation,” Portland police said.

Northwest St. Helens Road will be closed north of Northwest Bridge Avenue in both directions while police investigate the crash.
