The DeKalb Police Department was called to the 2200 block of Eves Circle in East DeKalb around 1:34 a.m. and found a male victim who had been shot multiple times.
They were met by another man who explained that he had shot the victim after an altercation, and then called 911.
Police said the victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital in Rockford. His current condition is unknown.
Authorities said the gun owner had a Firearm Owner’s Identification card and a concealed carry permit. He was taken to the DeKalb Police Department for further questioning, but no charges have yet been filed.
Police said the man was cooperating with law enforcement.
