At around 2:30 p.m., Lorenzo Shaw allegedly walked away from his assigned work detail along County Road 104. The deputy supervising the work crew then secured the other inmates and called for backup units.
Shaw was located and taken back into custody without incident following a brief search of the area.
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office says Shaw will face additional charges in connection with the incident.
