On April 28, officers with the Carmel Police Department responded around 3:20 a.m. to a report of suspicious activity at a car dealership located on East 96th Street. CPD said a security employee reported seeing two suspects dressed in black allegedly attempting to gain access to vehicles.
The suspects fled on foot when officers arrived on the scene. Police managed to take one of them into custody. The search continued for the second suspect as officers requested assistance from K-9 and drone units. As of this article’s publication, CPD has been unable to locate the second individual.

As officers continued investigating, they reportedly found a backpack with marijuana, a firearm, a scale and a car-key reprogramming device. Police also recovered a stolen license plate from another vehicle at the dealership. The detained individual, who CPD has not identified, was transported to the Hamilton County Jail, where they face the following charges:
