Sweetwater officials appoint interim city manager & police chief

SWEETWATER, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The City of Sweetwater is undergoing some changes, with the appointment of a new Interim City Manager and Interim Police Chief.

During the May 13, 2025, city council meeting, city officials appointed Police Chief Bryan Sheridan as the Interim City Manager. This follows the departure of former City Manager David A. Vela.

As Sheridan assumes this role, Assistant Chief Cory Stroman has been appointed Interim Police Chief. Both Sheridan and Stroman assumed these roles on May 28.

The city council will announce the permanent city manager in the near future.
