POCATELLO — A new church is launching in Pocatello.
Word of Life Church, led by Pastor Marty Carr, will hold its first service Sunday, June 8, at 10 a.m. in the Mountain Scout Conference Room at the Holiday Inn Express, 200 Via Venitio. Everyone is welcome.
In a press release sent to EastIdahoNews.com, Carr said, “Why ‘Word of Life Church?’ Because the Word of God is God speaking to each of us, and His Word says in John 6:63b, ‘the words that I (Jesus) speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.’”
Carr and his family moved to this community to pioneer this independent church. They say they want to bring to Pocatello and the surrounding communities the life and light that only comes from the Word of God.
He graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, in 1990. Over the years, he has traveled in the U.S. and abroad to churches, Bible schools and pastor conferences.
Carr says he loves 2 Corinthians 4:5: “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord.”
He says he doesn’t want people to take his word for it, saying, “After all, if it is not backed up with the Word of God, people shouldn’t believe it.”
Carr added, “Jeremiah 23:4 says, ‘And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the Lord.’ There is nothing more precious than when the light of the glorious gospel of Christ shines bright and dawns on a person’s heart.”
This is why Carr and his family are so excited to be in Pocatello at this place, at this time, to do what they say God has called them to do.
“You may be looking for a church family, or maybe you have never even been to church before; either way, we would love for you to visit WOLC and see just how the Word of God can change your life forever,” said Carr.
