Narcotics were uncovered at the residence, police said, and a K-9 helped locate a firearm and ammunition.

The probationer was arrested for multiple offenses related to the discovery.

Authorities are reminding the public to take steps to help protect against identity theft, including:

  • Destroying bank statements and other sensitive documents before disposing of them
  • Regularly monitoring financial accounts and credit reports
  • Freezing credit to prevent new accounts from being opened
  • Creating strong passwords and using multi-factor authentication for online accounts

“Early action can limit harm and help protect your financial future,” Alameda PD said.
