OREM, Utah (ABC4) — An Orem woman has been arrested and charged after allegedly blocking another driver with her vehicle to prevent her from leaving while experiencing road rage. Police found a 4-year-old child unrestrained in the back seat during the incident.
Jennifer Miho Arnold, 41, has been charged with felony reckless endangerment with a road rage enhancement, misdemeanor unlawful detention with a road rage enhancement, and a child restraint device violation.
According to documents, on May 23, 2025, Arnold was involved in a road rage incident where she stopped her Mercedes in front of another vehicle. She then exited the vehicle and began “banging her fists” while yelling and swearing at the driver of the vehicle she was blocking.
The victim told police that she tried to drive away from the scene, but Arnold moved her vehicle to block her and prevent her from leaving. According to the victim, Arnold prevented her from going anywhere for at least 10 minutes.
This blockage caused “significant congestion” on the road, causing a vehicle backup for several hundred feet behind Arnold’s Mercedes. When officers arrived on the scene, they found that a 4-year-old child was unrestrained in the backseat of Arnold’s vehicle, meaning that he was not buckled into a car seat.
Police were able to identify the vehicle Arnold was driving as one that was involved in several reports on May 11, 2025. According to documents, she had been driving “recklessly and erratically,” and three separate callers reported “she was intentionally trying to crash into other vehicles, driving the wrong way in traffic, and yelling at other drivers.”
Documents say that the Department of Child and Family Services was contacted to take custody of the 4-year-old, as Arnold’s driving posed a “risk of serious bodily injury or death” due to her reckless driving and failure to “safely care for her child.”
Arnold also reportedly had an “extensive” history of calling 911 and hanging up, according to police. She was booked into the Utah County Jail, and bail was set at $12,500.
