Her name is Eva Martinez.
She’s an 18-year-old graduating senior at Ursuline Academy.
She tells WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood that art is good for the heart and soul.
“No matter your mood. If you’re mad, you can express yourself. If you’re happy, you can express yourself. It’s the perfect avenue to convey any emotions you have,” said Martinez.
She put heart and soul into the colored pencil masterpiece she created calls “Louisiana Sugarcane Heritage.”
It’s Eva’s heritage.
And it’s her entry into the MS Rau Gallery’s student art contest.
She’s one of 10 finalists.
Her work will be up on the walls of MS Rau through Friday, May 30.
