SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A man’s body was discovered in the waters of the San Francisco Bay near the Exploratorium Tuesday morning. According to the San Francisco Fire Department, reports came in from witnesses who saw what appeared to be a body in the water at Pier 15.
Units from SFFD and the San Francisco Police Department responded and confirmed that there was a deceased person in the water off the pier. As of shortly after 8 a.m., there was a heavy first responder presence in the area with an SFPD boat in the water and SFFD personnel along the waterfront.
There was no immediate word on the man’s identity or how they wound up in the water. The medical examiner has been summoned to the scene, according to SFFD.
