16-year-old boy shot, critically injured on Chicago’s South Side
CHICAGO (WGN) — A 16-year-old boy was critically injured in a shooting Tuesday morning on Chicago’s South Side.
Chicago police say the teen was outside in the 8700 block of South Marquette Avenue just before 9 a.m. when a black sedan approached him and opened fire, striking him in the head.
The victim was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.

Police say there is nobody in custody in connection with this incident. Area Two detectives are investigating.
