1-year-old boy critically injured after being shot on Chicago’s South Side

CHICAGO (WGN) — A 1-year-old boy was critically injured after being shot on Chicago’s South Side Saturday afternoon.

According to the Chicago Police Department, the shooting occurred in the 7700 block of South Yates Boulevard just after 2 p.m.

The child was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition after being shot in the leg, police said.

No additional information has been provided, and there is no one in custody. Area Two Detectives are investigating.
