VIDEO: Mustang slammed into 2 cars while racing with Corvette

(KRON) – A Ford Mustang crashed into two sedans as it was street racing with a Chevrolet Corvette last week, according to the Vacaville Police Department.

Around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, a Mustang and a Corvette were street racing near Peabody Road and Cliffside Drive. As the cars were making a right turn on the Cliffside Drive off-ramp from Interstate 80, the Mustang slammed into a white car’s left side. The Mustang then crashed into a dark-colored sedan shortly after.

Per police investigation, the Mustang and Corvette had been racing moments earlier on eastbound I-80, right before the crash.

The driver of the Mustang was identified as a 22-year-old Vacaville man. He was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail on charges related to reckless driving and street racing. His vehicle was also impounded for 30 days.

There were two people in the white car, one of whom was sent to the hospital, police said.

Vacaville PD expressed gratitude to the individuals who helped the victims. The department said on its social media, “Your compassion is just one more reason Vacaville remains a strong, caring place to live.”

Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to contact the Vacaville Police Department at 707-449-5200.
