LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A Lee County resident was arrested after two people were found deceased, authorities said.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said investigators received a report around 3:30 p.m. on May 23 that led them to a home on County Road 295 in the Shannon area. When they arrived, deputies contacted the property owner and resident, and they conducted a search of the premises.

During the search, the sheriff said two deceased individuals were discovered. The unidentified resident was arrested without incident.

Johnson said the case is being treated as a double homicide, and the investigation is ongoing.
