‘Christmas Vacation’ stars Chevy Chase, Randy Quaid set for this year’s FanX

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Christmas is coming to town — Salt Lake City that is! “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” stars Chevy Chase (Clark Griswold) and Randy Quaid (Cousin Eddie) are now on the lineup for this year’s FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention.

“It’s become such a staple in everybody’s holiday movies … I think a lot of people can relate to it on different levels,” said Chelsie Stoker, FanX marketing coordinator. “To have Chevy Chase and Randy Quaid together is really a special experience because they don’t do a whole lot of conventions together. It’s pretty rare to get people’s schedules like that for a cast to line up; it’s really difficult. So we’re really excited that they were able to make that happen for us.”

Quaid was on the lineup for last year’s FanX, but had to cancel after a fall that led to a hand injury, which needed surgery. Now, he’ll back in Salt Lake City — with some “family” joining him.

In addition to portraying Clark Griswold in the National Lampoon’s Vacation films, Chase is known for his roles in “Caddy Shack”, “Fletch”, “Spies Like Us”, “Funny Farm”, and “Three Amigos.”

Along with playing Uncle Eddie, Quaid is also known for starring in “Kingpin”, “Independence Day”, “Pluto Nash”, and “The Last Detail.”

The two join other stars set for the convention, including David Tennant, Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman, William Shatner, Michael Rooker, Ian Somerhalder, Nikki Reed, and many more.

FanX takes place on Sept. 25 – 27 this year, with tickets available online.
