BATON ROUGE, La. (
Louisiana First) — A second suspect has been arrested after a shooting on Geronimo Street in Baton Rouge left one man dead.
Hazel Mancusi-Ungaro, 37, was charged with accessory after the fact of second-degree murder in connection with the April 6 shooting death of Kevin Dale Evans, 40. Police said Evans was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in the 3900 block of Geronimo Street after his friends went to do a welfare check on him.
On April 17, Joshua Mancusi-Ungaro,
19, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons.
BRPD confirmed the two are related as Hazel is Joshua’s aunt.
During the investigation, detectives learned that Hazel helped Joshua avoid police after the shooting. Hazel was arrested in Krotz Springs on an active warrant filed by BRPD. She was later transported to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
This is an ongoing investigation.
