IndyGo routes to be impacted by Sunday's Indy 500
INDIANAPOLIS — As the Indy 500 occurs on Sunday, some will continue to need access to IndyGo services.

Officials with IndyGo told FOX59/CBS4 that there will be no changes to fares or hours on Sunday during the race. However, there will be bus detours and bus stop closures because of the race.

Expected detours because of sunday’s race

Officials with IndyGo said that the following routes will be on detour starting when the service begins on Sunday until around 7 p.m.:

  • Route 3
  • Route 8
  • Route 10
  • Route 15
  • Route 25
  • Route 37
  • Route 38

The following bus stops are expected to be closed from around 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.:

  • Route 10 – All stops within Speedway Plaza will not be serviced
  • Route 15: All stops west of 30th Street, from Cold Spring Road to 34th Street and High School Road, will not be serviced
  • Route 25: All stops west of 16th and Martin Luther King Jr. streets to 38th Street and Lafayette Road will not be serviced.
  • Route 37: All stops west of 16th Street and Lafayette Road to 38th Street and Lafayette Road will not be serviced.

The following bus stops are expected to be closed from around 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.:

  • Route 3: All stops west of Tibbs Avenue and Michigan Street will not be serviced.
  • Route 8: All stops from Tibbs Avenue to Belmont will not be serviced.
  • Route 10: All stops west of Eskenazi Hospital will not be serviced.
  • Route 15: All stops west of 29th and Harding streets will not be serviced.
  • Route 25: All stops west of 16th Street and Capitol Avenue will not be serviced.
  • Route 37: All stops from 16th Street and Lafayette Road to 56th Street and Georgetown Road will not be serviced.
  • Route 38: All stops west of 38th and Illinois streets will not be serviced.

IndyGo will also have a presence at the track during Sunday’s race. Five IndyGo cooling buses will be placed around the track at the Indy 500, including at the following locations:

  • One at the Indiana State Police Station
  • Two at the Snake Pit
  • One on the back side of Turn 3
  • One near 25th and Georgetown Road.
