The Tigers capitalized on the opportunity, showing Trinity University they were not messing around, shutting them out to claim a 4-0 victory and forcing the series against to go to a game three.
The second game of the day was another close one, ETBU tied it up in the bottom of the eighth and never giving the Trinity offense a chance in the ninth inning. The Tigers took things to the 10th inning, 19th inning of the day, but ultimately could not stop Trinity from putting up three runs, without an answer.
The Tigers finish their season with heads held high after fighting strong all weekend.
“What we were able to do out here this weekend was probably the the gutsiest thing I’ve ever seen,” head coach Jared Hood said. “And just how they were able to continue to fight for one another, believe in one another. And never quit, says who they are as men. The game of baseball lets you down a lot of the times, but the game of life continues and the fight that they showed today will carry them a lot of places when when they get done here. So, yeah, love these boys.”
