PAWS Chicago hosts Spring Adopt-A-Thon to find homes for over 120 pets

CHICAGO — PAWS is making a big push to find homes for hundreds of adoptable pets this weekend.

Starting Friday, PAWS is hosting its annual Spring Adopt-A-Thon with the goal of matching over 120 dogs, puppies, cats and kittens with families.

The PAWS Chicago Pippen Fasseas Adoption Center, located at 1997 N. Clybourn Ave., will extend its hours for this event, open until midnight on Friday, 11 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday.

“This is an incredibly popular time for unplanned litters of both puppies and kittens to come in,” Paige Krueger with PAWS Chicago said. “These unplanned litters further overwhelm an already overwhelmed shelter system which puts more pets at risk for euthanasia.”

Shelter officials ask those interested to go online and make an appointment before coming in to meet the pets.
