The event recognized the academic achievements of students who overcame challenges and demonstrated perseverance in pursuit of higher education. Nearly 350 graduates were in attendance to walk across the stage.
“Congratulations on completing your academic journey!” said LSUA Chancellor Paul Coreil, Ph.D. “The faculty and staff of LSUA are incredibly proud of you for reaching this significant milestone in your life. Graduating from college reflects the sacrifices, dedication, and hard work you have invested in your future.”
Keynote speaker Thomas O. Ryder, a distinguished publishing executive and Louisiana native, delivered a motivational address highlighting essential life lessons for the graduates. Ryder built a celebrated career with Time, Inc., CBS Magazines, and American Express Publishing, and has written widely about food and wine for national publications.
The ceremony also highlighted several firsts for LSUA. Brett Chelette became the university’s inaugural graduate from its professional aviation program, a rapidly growing field at LSUA. Meanwhile, Mohammed Abdelsalem and Majed Zeibo were among the first to complete the Interdisciplinary Pre-Professional program in biology—part of LSUA’s pre-med pipeline. Zeibo will attend LSU Health Sciences New Orleans this fall, and Abdelsalem is set to begin medical school at the American University of the Caribbean.
Psychology, nursing, and accounting were among the most popular majors among the Spring 2025 graduating class.
LSUA invites the community to join in celebrating the accomplishments of its graduates. A full list of graduates by degree is available in the Spring 2025 Commencement program.
