Tornado Watch issued in several north central Indiana counties

(WXIN/WTTV): A Tornado Watch has been issued until 3 a.m. for several counties in north central Indiana as the threat of severe weather looms.

The National Weather Service announced that a tornado watch has been issued for Carroll, Grant, Howard and Tippecanoe Counties until 3 a.m. Friday morning.

The watch said isolated tornadoes remain a possibility, with the possibility of scattered ping pong-sized hail and wind gusts potentially reaching 70 mph.

At this moment, storms appear to be at their heaviest in far northern Indiana as a few intense storms continued to head northeast shortly after 9:30 p.m.
