Up to date? Mariposa County alert test coming to check

MARIPOSA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office announced it will conduct a test of its MSO Alert Emergency Notification System on Wednesday, May 14, at 1 p.m.

Officials say this is only a test and will include all phone and electronic alert methods, including:

  • voice calls to landlines and cell phones
  • text messages
  • email notifications

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the test gives residents a chance to make sure they’re signed up correctly and ensure their chosen delivery methods are functioning.

Authorities ask that if anyone has selected multiple types of notifications, do not confirm receipt of the first message, as doing so could stop the others from being delivered.

Residents do not need to contact the sheriff’s office if they receive the message. However, anyone who does not receive the test is encouraged to call 209-966-3615 or email sheriff@mariposacounty.org.
