According to the sheriff’s office, they, along with the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Foundation, delivered baskets, Easter dinners and “smiles” to more than 75 families across the county on Friday.
The baskets, filled with goodies and meals, delivered joy to young families, elderly people, and anyone who might have otherwise missed a traditional Easter celebration.
“We had a blast making our way through the county, waving to neighbors, and handing out not just food, but kindness, and community spirit. As each face lit up as they opened the door reminded us why this tradition means so much,” reads the sheriff’s office’s social media post.
The sheriff’s office says the operation was possible thanks to their partnership with the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office Foundation, Mariposa Safe Families, Calaveras Mariposa Community Action Agency, and “the kindness” of Pioneer Market and Sysco Foods.
