‘Suspicious’ man approached children walking to Suisun school: police

(KRON) — Police officers are alerting parents about a suspicious man who approached children while they were walking to school and asked if the students were alone.

On Bluejay Drive Tuesday morning, a man wearing a blue coat started asking two children questions. “Feeling uncomfortable, the children immediately went home and informed their parents, who then contacted the police,” the Suisun City Police Department wrote.

Officers searched the neighborhood, but they were unable to find the man.

“Out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of community safety, our officers are investigating. We want to thank the children and their parents for reporting this situation,” SCPD wrote.

“We encourage parents to talk with their children about personal safety and to report anything that feels suspicious or unsafe,” the police department wrote. “The safety of our community, especially our children, remains our highest priority.”

Anyone with additional information is asked to call Suisun City Police Department at 707-421-7373.
