Around 9:41 p.m. on April 25, Colma Police Department officers responded to a Target on Junipero Serra Boulevard for a theft that transpired earlier in the day. Arriving officers were informed that a man stole $522 worth of cosmetics and then fled in a vehicle. Police were also informed that the suspect shoplifted $1,163.86 worth of cosmetics on the day prior.
The next day, the same suspect was shoplifting in the same Target. Police responded to the theft in progress and detained the suspect. He was identified by the store’s loss prevention officers.
Colma PD said the suspect initially gave police a false name before saying his true identity.
The suspect was identified as a 33-year-old South San Francisco resident. He was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for suspicion of burglary, grand theft, organized retail theft and providing officers with a false name.
