The San Jose Police Department’s Mobile Emergency Response Group and Equipment unit, Street Crimes unit, and patrol officers initially seized seven handguns Saturday, in an effort to get illegal guns off the street. On Sunday, officers seized three more.
“At this rate, we might need a bigger evidence room,” SJPD said.
Most of the guns were taken from suspected gang members, the department said.
“This isn’t luck,” SJPD wrote on social media Sunday. “It’s proactive policing and a commitment to keeping San Jose safe, one gun at a time.”
