RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – The Rankin County Board of Supervisors rescinded their vote on a new zoning ordinance.
On Monday, May 5, the supervisors unanimously rescinded their vote on the ordinance that passed on April 7.
The ordinance restricted mobile homes and required county approval for any accessory buildings on properties zoned for agriculture.
Hundreds of residents attended a town hall last week to demand a rollback of the vote. They said the ordinance threatened property rights and raised housing costs.
