Ogle County teen hospitalized after ATV crash, another teen cited for riding dirt bike

POLO, Ill. (WTVO) — A 15-year-old teen was hospitalized Friday after crashing an ATV that was also carrying a 13-year-old passenger. A third teen, following on a dirt bike, was also cited in the incident.

According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the 13000 block of W. Canada Road around 6:51 p.m. and discovered that the 15-year-old driver had been traveling westbound before losing control of the vehicle on a gravel road.

The injured teen was taken to OSF St. Katherine in Dixon, but the extent of his injuries is unknown.

The 13-year-old passenger was uninjured in the crash.

The 17-year-old dirt bike rider was cited for no valid driver’s license and released to his parent.
