Jackson birthday party leads to dozens of noise complaints

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A birthday party on Jackson’s Sheffield Drive led to dozens of noise complaints to police this weekend.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade said hundreds of people gathered at LeFleur Court Townhomes to celebrate a woman’s 38th birthday. Neighbors called police after hearing loud much and seeing flashing lights.

The police chief said the calls didn’t stop after the party ended, and people continued reaching out Monday morning. Wade said he reviewed video of the party and spoke directly with the woman who organized the party.

“I talked to her, and if she plans on having anything like that in the future, she’s going to contact us first, and we’re going to talk about how we can make it a peaceful event where nobody is disturbed and just how we could be better,” he said.

Wade said he doesn’t expect any more problems at the location.
