Concord police stopped the driver near the intersection of Clayton and Farm Bureau roads in Concord at 4:41 p.m. Thursday. The suspect, 42-year-old Olonzie Owens, was worried that the arrest would affect his delivery-app rating, police said.
“The rider was more worried about his delivery than his impending charges,” Concord police said. “He asked if we could drop off the food to save his 5-star rating.”
Owens was placed in the back of the patrol car and officers completed his delivery for him, Concord police told KRON4. Owens was booked into the Contra Costa County Jail for charges of taking a vehicle without permission and knowingly receiving, buying, selling, concealing, or withholding a stolen motor vehicle.
Owens was released on $20,000 bail.
